Looking for challenging crises and issues-based work within a independent corporate, litigation and public affairs communications agency? This consultancy pride itself on doing intellectually challenging work with credible companies, advising on ‘eye-opening’ situations. They deal with class actions and are now looking to invest in hiring an Associate Director to free up partners and drive forward exciting projects and campaigns.

The Company

They do communications advisory and class action work, advising at board level. Work could include data breaches, safeguarding allegations, whistleblowing, activism, reputation/defamation. They do some longer-lead and very strategic activity too including reputation building, repositioning campaign planning and thought leadership. This partnership houses some really intelligent and delightful people. The culture is grown up, flexible and non-bureaucratic. They have a beautiful office in a great location, advise across most industry sectors and handle work across the UK.

The Role

Key challenges and opportunities for a corporate and crisis Associate Director:

  • You will be working alongside genuinely smart people who are able to offer senior level strategic advice, across a broad range of disciplines
  • Working with partners and running teams of researchers and associates, you will lead projects which are often highly complex and challenging - your problem solving skills will be tested
  • Enjoy being stretched as you will be using your corporate reputation and issues management experience
  • Build trust with clients, advise and support them through crises and issues
  • You will be closely involved in business development and be confident to network and bring in leads with the view of sourcing new business very selectively
  • You will be managing other members of the team

The Person

Key attributes and experience for this corporate and crisis Associate Director:

  • This role suits bright individuals with rigour who have the intellectual capacity to solve problems as every campaign is bespoke
  • Agency experience is necessary and litigation experience is desirable
  • Able to work quickly, diligently and drive forward projects and programmes with minimal supervision from partners
  • Ability to get straight on to challenging crisis and issues based pieces of work as they come in the door; taking the reigns alongside partners and moving core elements forward to support partner client counsel
  • Campaign plan and project manage anything from a campaign website to development of social media awareness-building programme with short lead-times and high client expectations
  • Strong writing skills are required, a go getting attitude and resilience
  • Intellectually you need to be curious and have the ability to get up to speed quickly
