Corporate Communications Manager - private equity prowess - one year contract

It may be a one year contract covering a maternity leave, however, the experience you will gain from undertaking both corporate and financial comms for the business and support the comms for the amazing array of portfolio brands will be a year which is hard to beat. This highly respected private equity firm knows everything about business services, consumer, financial services, healthcare, technology and industrials and have offices globally. You will be the number two in the communications team and heading up the media for this proactive, well respected communications team.

This private equity heavy weight has a great array of portfolio brand across a variety of sectors which makes it more fascinating than most one dimensional businesses. They are an acquisitive company so having financial transactions communications experience (M&A) is ideal for you to understand the deals. Given their size and profile, the company attracts highly capable management teams from around the world who are demanding yet super friendly. No two days are the same so if you like variety and being kept on your toes then you will enjoy the challenge. The communications team like people who have an ‘all hands on deck’ approach to their work and happy to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and undertake high profile work alongside the more mundane such as media monitoring and desk research. Naturally, their offices are super slick and you have a wealth of facilities on site and the people are super smart yet down to earth, warm, social and engaging and really value similar qualities when they hire.

The Role

Key challenges and opportunities in this Corporate Communications Manager role:

  • Your confidence will soon build as you will be working closely with the engaging Director of Communications, Head of IR and with C-suite stakeholders
  • Undertake proactive media relations across the UK and internationally, working closely with senior management on messaging for the business press and stakeholders
  • Use your exemplary writing skills to develop media articles and press releases with the London tier 1 business press which support the positive narrative of their European portfolio companies
  • You will be responsible for maintaining all marketing channels including their website, intranet and core presentations as well as keeping the brand gallery up to date – if you don’t have these skills but not afraid to learn, that should be fine
  • Research, media monitoring, proof reading the annual report, crisis management and a whole host of duties means a ‘can do’ attitude is essential in this busy function

The Person

Key attributes and experience for this Corporate Communications Manager role:

  • Perhaps you are looking to expand and broaden your knowledge in financial comms and private equity client side then this 1 year contract to start mid-March could be ideal
  • Ideally available to start in February or March 2018 for a handover
  • It’s right for someone looking for high levels of ownership and autonomy
  • You must have some experience of reporting on transactions either as a corporate communications professional or a financial communications expert and private equity experience would be great
  • It’s likely that you will be working at Senior Account Manager/ Account Director level or perhaps a newly promoted Associate Director in an agency or working at Communications Manager level in-house
  • Confident media abilities with the London financial press
  • Must be happy to support the Director of Comms with projects
  • You do not need to have worked in-house already so this could be your opportunity to ‘break into it’
  • You are friendly, charming, super-efficient, calm under pressure and like to get things done’
  • You must be adept at using your initiative and understand what to prioritise
  • Have the gravitas to liaise with very senior stakeholders, conscientious and thorough, with great attention to detail
