You will be working closely with senior management to help shape and drive the communications to promote the industry and engage prized members. Supported by a PR agency, you will develop and implement the PR, marketing and social media strategy alongside thinking about the brand and style of this business. You will promote the voice of the industry, engage members globally and position the body as a thought-leader. This exciting role will give you ownership, enable you to bring your creative ways of getting more mileage out of great content and allow you to show your good social media abilities. You don’t have to know everything as the senior management are really supportive and you will have the help of an agency too. It’s perfect for a confident, proactive self-starter.

The Company

This influential financial services organisation talks to the asset management, hedge fund, insurance and pensions media globally. Considering their size, they pack a big punch and host a huge amount of events and conferences around the world giving them international reach. High profile members sponsor research which produces fantastic collateral to leverage and market out through lots of different channels. They are thought-leaders, the voice of stakeholders, the media and the public within financial services. The team is close knit and this Corporate Communications Manager will work closely with the Head of Research and CEO who value communications. They will support you with strategy and direction plus you have a PR agency to help with media coverage. This role will give you variety and allow you to make some ‘industry noise’ using your social media knowledge.

The Role

Key challenges and opportunities in this Corporate Communications Manager role:

  • Help shape, implement and manage PR, content marketing and social media
  • Engage members globally on communications issues, policies and regulatory changes on a global scale
  • Use your exemplary writing skills to write articles and update the website
  • Manage, co-ordinate and maximise the use of a PR agency
  • Work closely with the research team to optimise distribution and coverage of reports, data and surveys
  • Use your great project management skills to support the events team to ensure effective marketing of the forums and international conferences
  • Update the website and ensure marketing and promotional materials continually evolve and reflect the brand

The Person

Key attributes and experience for this Corporate Communications Manager role:

  • It is likely you will be working as an Account Manager or newly appointed Account Director in a corporate or financial PR consultancy handling financial services clients, or currently working in house as a Communications Officer looking for more responsibility
  • Previous corporate communications experience in institutional financial services is essential i.e. alternative asset management, asset management, insurance, banking, pensions
  • You must have strong writing skills, confident social media skills (Twitter and LinkedIn)
  • A confident personality who is driven and thinks of themselves as a self-starter
  • You must be able to demonstrate that you can come up with creative solutions
  • Confident to work autonomously and with senior management
  • Highly organised, good project management skills and a proactive approach
  • Digital skills e.g. able to update websites, upload videos etc. would be useful
